“the voices of anti-hallyu had increased in Japan, gather more than 6000 opposed to hallyu demonstrated at Fuji TV station. the local media reckons that overseas artists performed in Japan are mainly for profits reasoning but the arguments are Korean artists extravagant profited from albums selling, concerts in Japan compared to what they are getting in their home country

first of all, because of the flourishing of illegal music downloading in Korea, album that sold 100,000 copies were considerably remarkable. But the profit margins is relatively little after deducted expenses for promotion & required taxes. Increase of albums in Japan (500,000 copies) is an alternative in earnings.

fan-meeting/concert is another source of generating income apart from sold of albums. For instance: Korean boys-band JYJ were paid 20 million yens in Japan, whereas in korea, are being paid around 2 million, which amounted to 10 times in differences & cannot be accepted by Japanese. In addition, Korean artists doing their promotional activities or performing concerts in Japan, usually companied by their entourage & demand to travel by first class seats & stay in prestigious accommodation. These expenses which were borne by organizer, attributes to the increase in cost

[Facts about JYJ]

Fact 1: Since when was JYJ able to hold activities in Japan allowing them to earn that Yen 20million?

Fact 2: Since when did JYJ earn that Yen 2million in Korea? When was the period of comparison?

Fact 3: JYJ fans know that JYJ was not allowed of any activites in Japan because of contract issues and they barely started out in Korea.

Fact 4: As compared to activities in Japan, JYJ had more activities in Korea, the rest of Asia Pacific and US and Canada.

Fact 5: JYJ debuted in Japan as a Japanese artist and not Korean artist and has been recognised as a Korean debuted in the Japanese Entertainment industry over the last few years as previous 5-member group.

The Japanese were protest about the airing of Korean TV Programs on their TV. Why was there a comparison made about the earnings of what Korean artists who ventured into Japan earned?

The Japanese and Korean news basically reported only about the protest that was being made. But, when the news article reached the rest of SEA countries, the content of those articles have been distorted.

Nevermind if those reporters used all general Korean artists as a whole to make a comparison.

Why is only JYJ used in Singapore media? From what source did they get their information about the news from? And Singapore might seem like a small country but the impact they bring out to people about the Entertainment circle is not small. The news that has been reported in Singapore would have caused a negative impact on JYJ’s image within Singapore and perhaps outside Singapore.
